NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Jackson Township Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing at the Jackson Township Municipal Building, 2162 Route 715, Reeders, Pennsylvania 18352, on Thursday, October 15, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The purpose of the hearing is to decide whether dangerous structures exist, in violation of Chapter 4, Part 1 of the Jackson Township Code of Ordinances, on property located at 1545 Route 715, Jackson Township, Pennsylvania. The property is now or formerly owned by Deborah AK Smith. It is further identified as Monroe County Parcel ID # 08.110874 and Map # 08-6351-00-50-2839.

The Board of Supervisors has received a report from the Township’s Code Enforcement Officers. The report states that a single-wide manufactured home on the property and a covered porch attached to it are in a dangerous condition and are a nuisance under Chapter 4, Part 1 of the Jackson Township Code. The property owner and every other person having an interest in the property may appear before the Board at the hearing. Each may show cause why each structure reported to be a dangerous structure should not be repaired, vacated, or demolished under the standards and requirements of Chapter 4, Part 1 of the Jackson Township Code.

The Board will conduct the hearing as a local agency hearing under the Local Agency Law, 2 Pa.C.S. §§ 551-555 and 751-754. Testimony will be taken under oath. The parties may present evidence, cross-examine witnesses, and be represented by counsel. A stenographic record of the hearing will be made.

1st Thursday @ 7:00 PM – Supervisors’ Work Sessions

2nd Thursday @ 7:00 PM – Supervisors’ Business Meetings

3rd Thursday @ 6:00 PM – Planning Commission Meetings

Weekly, Mondays @ 7:30 AM – Department Work Sessions

Zoning Hearing Board Hearings will be conducted as needed, after public notice
