Short-Term Rentals
Jackson Township Short-Term Rental Ordinance
Jackson Township Short-Term Rental Ordinance has been in existence since July of 2018. Short-Term Rentals are not permitted in the Residential (R1) Zoning District or where Owner's Associations do not permit short-term rentals. Existing permitted properties in this zoning district, may continue to operate as nonconforming (as stated within the Ordinance). Operating, advertising or booking short-term rentals is illegal without a valid permit.
Permits, once issued, are renewed annually. An inspection will be required every 2 years, during the renewal process. An additional fee of $100 will be required prior to each inspection for renewals only, as the renewal application fee does not include any inspections.
Inspections for renewal permits will begin in February 2024. All owners renewing their short term rental permit located in Northridge at Camelback will be required to have the premises inspected, with the exception of those who completed an initial application and were issued a permit in 2023. In 2025, all properties not located in Northridge at Camelback, and those who have not been inspected in 2024, will be inspected. Once you receive an inspection in 2024 or 2025, inspections will be every 2 years thereafter.
